I’m Not Free
Hey, how’s everybody doing?
Just remember today isn’t our day.
Juneteenth was our day.
The fourth represents freedom, but we are not free...
Let me repeat that... THE FOURTH REPRESENTS FREEDOM, BUT WE ARE NOT FREE.
Racism is still heavy in this country.
Blacks are still being lynched and murdered by the police.
Latinos are still held hostage in ICE Detention Centers.
Brown people still get labeled as terrorists.
Asians have been harassed because of the coronavirus.
AND BLACKS ARE STILL BEING MURDERED.
All lives don’t matter till Black Lives do.
I still love all my ethnic people and will fight for yall.
But right now, Black Lives matter the most.
I’m not celebrating a holiday when my people aren’t free.
There’s kids still in cages.
People judging by the faces.
We running a marathon, but are we progressing in stages?
Breonna Taylor was killed and those cops feel painless?
Left being fired, but not considered dangerous?
I don’t understand.
We have centuries of racism to fight and it’s going to be a long race.
I’m with my people and I vouch for every non-racist citizen out there.
But I will not celebrate the fourth because there’s no real freedom.
WE ARE NOT FREE.
I AM NOT FREE.
